Integration Of Information Communication Technology (Ict) In Facilitating Students For Their Learning Excellence At University Level

Abstract

The advantages of integration of ICT in learning, effect of integration of ICT, challenges and future trend in education are discussed in this study.  Integration of ICT in education is crucial because of its effectiveness and usefulness in education. Students of all levels need digital tools for assistance which raise the levels of their understanding and clarity of the information received from the content of their syllabus. To enhance their learning levels and access international tutors is now approachable for learners. The objectives of the study were to explore the opportunities for students while integrating ICT in learning process, to access the effectiveness of ICT integration, to identify the challenges in effective integration of ICT in learning and to explore the students’ perception towards the use of ICT in their learning excellence. Quantitative research was conducted and survey design was used to collect data. The population of the study was the undergraduate students of three universities of district Sialkot. Sample of the study was 254 undergraduate students of 3^rd and 4^th semester. Convenience sampling technique was used to collect data from the students. Questionnaire was used as research tool to collect data from respondents. Descriptive statistics were applied to the data including percentages, frequencies, mean, and standard deviation and t-test values. Results of the study indicate that majority of the students believe that ICT integration in education is useful for them and it adds in students’ motivation, engagement and is time and resources saving. ICT integration is helpful for information accuracy and retention of knowledge. So, the study concludes that the integration of ICT enhances students learning.
