Abstract

Pakistan as a nation is under enormous threat of cybercrime because it presents a wide range of negative impacts on individual, enterprise, and state institutions. On September 8, 2016 the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 became and aiming at preserving and defending cyber security by limiting and controlling the thriller and capabilities of the foundation and space of the cyber network together with its associated devices and applications. Despite an enormous attempt, several ongoing issues continue to impact the effectiveness of PECA regulations in Pakistan. Based on the above, this research is aimed at evaluating the capability of PECA 2016 to fight cybercrime in Pakistan by examining obstacles in its implementation and suggesting ways for the enhancement and efficiency of the law.
