Abstract

The Middle School Program (MSP), implemented by the Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB), aims to enhance academic achievement, creativity, and personal development among Grades 6–8 students in Pakistan. This study investigates the effectiveness of MSP’s curriculum and pedagogical practices, as well as its alignment with international educational standards. A quantitative descriptive design was employed, with data collected from 225 stakeholders including administrators, teachers, and parents—using a structured five-point Likert scale questionnaire. Descriptive statistics summarized stakeholder perceptions, while independent t-tests examined gender-based differences. Findings revealed that MSP positively impacts teaching effectiveness, learning outcomes, and student development, with minor variations across gender. The program’s evidence-based curriculum, project-based pedagogy, and formative assessments are consistent with global best practices, demonstrating MSP’s potential as a model for innovative middle school education in Pakistan. These results provide empirical insights for policymakers, educators, and researchers seeking to implement, scale, and improve holistic educational programs in similar contexts.
