Abstract

The Post-twenty years long war on terror episode in Afghanistan has once again provided the Afghan Taliban with the opportunity of ruling the country. The current government is trying its level best to rule the country smoothly but despite all efforts, it has been faced with the issues of human rights’ violation, strictness against the media personnel, restrictions on women and girls education and employment opportunities, economic and humanitarian crises, repatriation of Afghan refugees coupled with the accommodation and adjustment issues, extrajudicial executions, sense of insecurity and the justice and accountability system of the country. Despite non-cooperation from the international community, the Taliban have mostly overcome the issues of economic crises and making their adjustment to run the country. This paper analyses the various issues confronted by the Taliban regime since their retake of Afghanistan in August 2021 with a particular focus on certain internal issues.
